This is my 22nd year teaching English.  I'm a product of Round Rock ISD (Purple Sage Elem, Grisham MS, Westwood HS) and very happy to teach the next generation of graduates!   I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Marketing and then returned for a degree in English and a secondary teaching certificate.  I've worked in several different fields and know what it takes to succeed in various careers, but found teaching is what I love.

My husband and I  had beautiful twins, a son (Blake) and daughter (Emma), who were stillborn on October 1, 2010.  Our children are missed every single day.

I'm an animal lover (otters are awesome).  Our rescue cats, Tiger and Luna, think they rule the house (and they probably do 😊).  I grew up with dogs: two loveable St. Bernards and, later, Husky/Lab mixes (yep, my family loves big dogs).

 

Along with reading, I'm a huge movie fan (particularly sci-fi, period dramas, zombie related, and action/adventure) and, when I find time, am a gamer (my husband used to code games for Retro and Sony).  My husband is from Scotland, so we end up travelling there (and a few other places) to see his family every few years.  I also love to bake and will often spend part of the weekends in my kitchen.  I picked up knitting during the pandemic and find it oddly relaxing.

I'm from a military family (grandfather, dad and brothers - GO NAVY!) and a first generation college graduate.

I have three brothers in various occupations: one is a retired Navy helicopter pilot, one is a dosimetrist (also a Navy veteran), and one graduated from the US Naval Academy and now works as a quality engineer for a tech company.
